Those movies are created by the most talented Italian storyboard artist, Enrico Casarosa. Most of may have known about him. Enrico Casarosa comes from Italy. You are right! He was born and raised in Genoa, a coastal city in Italy. The work of Hayao Miyazaki, the Japanese animator of Studio Ghibli, is the main inspiration of Casarosa since he was a child. Now, all the works of Enrico Casarosa are influenced by Hayao Miyazaki and you may feel some of the Japanese animator’s elements in his works. Back years ago, he was an engineering student in Italy. He knew that was not his passion, so he decided to move to New York City to achieve his dream to be a storyboard artist.
His first jobs are being a storyboard artist for Disney Channel TV series for PB&J Otter and 101 Dalmatians. Now, he works in Pixar Studios for some awesome animated movies like Car, UP, and La Luna. La Luna was first his debut to be a director. This movie was inspired by his own story by growing up with his father and grandfather. And, it was greatly influenced by the Little Prince movie by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. Besides, the interesting facts about him that Casarosa also produced his own comic books like Venice Chronicles, The Adventure of Mia, and Haiku 5-7-5. And, He has successfully met his idol, Hayao Miyazaki twice; once at Pixar and once at Studio Ghibli. Casarosa also has his own drawing event called Casarosa’s SketchCrawl.
